ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In the method of induction heating of a metal material of long size continuously as the metal material is moving in the direction of their length through an induction heating coil composed of one or more sections so as to heat said metal material up to a desired temperature, the improvement is so made that said induction heating coil is provisionally sectioned into a plurality of sections along the direction of its length, the temperature of metal material at the respective sections of said induction heating coil is calculated on the temperature of said metal material measured at the inlet of said coil and also on other factors for comparison with a desired temperature of the heated metal material at the outlet of said coil, and according to the result of the comparison supply of current to said coil is so adjusted as to sufficiently reduce temperature difference of the metal material at the outlet of said coil.
