Abstract of the Disclosure The present invention is directed to the use of a reaction product of an alkynediol and a polyalkylene polyamine to control corrosion of metallic surfaces in contact with a substantially anhydrous elevated temperature mixture of a hydrocarbon and propionic acid. The method is particularly useful in controlling the corrosion of overheads in a crude unit of a refinery where problems of this nature are prevalent.
