ABSTRACT A grease hood for use in restaurant kitchens, for example, has a greatly extended plenum chamber, comprising a plenum or exhaust chamber and a plenum extension connected thereto. The hood is provided as a pre- manufacturing unitary assembly and is installed by being lowered downwardly through a hole in the kitchen ceiling and supported there with at least part of the hood below the ceiling and above a cooking appliance.
