Abstract The present invention relates to a method of installing, levelling and securing a subsea template on a seabed. The method is comprised of the steps of providing a floating vessel including hoisting apparatus for raising and lowering a template with respect to the seabed; providing a template structure comprising a frame having a plurality of spaced apart pile receiving sleeves formed thereon, the template including a unit associated with the sleeves for releasably gripping piles disposed in respective of the sleeves for securing the template to the piles. The method further includes the steps of positioning the template with the vessel over a predetermined point on the seabed and lowering the template to the seabed; installing a selected number of piles in respective ones of the sleeves and extending adjacent to the gripping unit, respectively; lifting the template with the hoisting apparatus to level the template with respect to a predetermined reference level condition; actuating the gripping unit to connect the template to the piles, respectively; and lowering the template with the hoisting apparatus to transfer the weight of the template to the piles through the gripping units.
