ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of joining together two bodies of concrete is disclosed which is particularly applicable when the bodies are reinforced with ribbed reinforcing bars. One end of a reinforcing bar has a gripping portion formed from metal sleeve compressed tightly thereon. The sleeve has an unpressed portion which extends beyond the gripping portion and has an internal diameter larger than the maximum cross sectional dimension of the reinforcing bars. An end of another bar is secured within the unpressed portion of the sleeve by means of a self-setting composition.
