Abstract of the Disclosure A method of joining elements of a wave guide is disclosed. The elements to be joined have on their inner surfaces a continuous electroplated coating of, e.g. silver on copper. They are fitted together in their final correct relative positions and welded together by a beam welding technique in which a plasma, electron or laser beam is directed from the outside onto the abutting edges. This technique does not introduce contaminants, is extremely accurate and provides a good mechanical joint without adversely affecting the electrical properties of the electroplated layer.
