The present invention provides a method of luting a provisional prosthetic device to tooth structure using glass ionomer cement systems having reduced bulk shear adhesion. The invention also provides a kit for luting a prosthetic device to tooth structure. The kit contains at least three containers of glass ionomer luting cement compositions. The kit advantageously can be utilized for providing both a provisional and a permanent luting cement depending upon which components are admixed.

La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé de scellement d'une prothèse provisoire sur la structure dentaire au moyen de combinaisons de ciment de verre ionomère dont l'adhérence sous des forces de cisaillement en vrac est réduite. Cette invention se rapporte également à un kit de scellement d'une prothèse sur une structure dentaire. Ce kit comprend au moins trois récipients renfermant des compositions de ciment de verre ionomère de scellement, et il peut être avantageusement utilisé à la fois comme scellement provisoire et permanent en fonction duquel on ajoute des composants.
