A process for producing 1,1,1-trifluoroethane (HFC- 143a) which process comprises reacting hydrogen fluoride with vinylidene chloride along with one or more of 1,1,-dichloro-l-fluoroethane (HCFC-141b), l-chloro-l,l- difluoroethane (HCFC-142b) and 1,1,1-trichloroethane (HCC-140a) in the presence of pentavalent antimony as a fluorination catalyst under conditions to produce 1,1,1-trifluoroethane (HFC- 143a), generally in yields of 90% or more.
L'invention porte sur un procédé de production de 1,1,1-trifluoroéthane (HFC-143a) qui consiste à faire réagir du fluorure d'hydrogène avec du chlorure de vinylidène et avec du 1,1,-dichloro-l-fluoroéthane (HCFC-141b) et/ou du l-chloro-l,l-difluoroéthane (HCFC-142b) et/ou du 1,1,1-trichloroéthane (HCC-140a) en présence d'antimoine pentavalent servant de catalyseur de fluoration dans des conditions permettant de produire du 1,1,1-trifluoroéthane (HFC-143a), généralement avec des rendements supérieurs ou égaux à 90 %.
