ABSTRACT Disclosed is a method of making a cushion body of synthetic resin. A surface layer and a preshaped filler pad are laid one on the other to form a laminated structure and the laminated structure is pressed at selected areas with a force insufficient to greatly reduce the thickness of the filler pad. Selected areas of the laminated structure are subjected to ultrasonic heating and welding to form the laminated structure into a desired shape. During the laying up of the laminated structure disks are placed between the surface layer and the underlying layer and during the ultrasonic heating and welding step the ring horn or an ultrasonic welder is pushed on the surface layer around each disk area.
