A method of making a library of compounds comprises the following steps: (a) individually identifying a plurality of discrete reaction zones defined on laminar solid support material; (b) charging each of said reaction zones with a starting material; (c) sub-dividing the reaction zones into at least two initial batches; (d) applying at least two different reagents, one to each of the reaction zones in each initial batch, and recording the identity of those reaction zones to which each of said different reagents is applied; (e) subjecting all reaction zones to reaction conditions which promote reaction to completion; (f) further sub-dividing the reaction zones into at least two alternative batches; (g) applying at least two different reagents, one to each of the reaction zones in each alternative batch, and recording the identity of those reaction zones to which each of said different reagents is applied; (h) subjecting all reaction zones to reaction conditions which promote reaction to completion, and (i) repeating steps (f) to (h) inclusive as many times as desired.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour produire une banque de composés comprenant les étapes consistant à (a) identifier individuellement une pluralité de zones de réaction discrètes définies sur un matériau de support solide stratifié; (b) charger chacune desdites zones de réaction avec un produit de départ; (c) subdiviser les zones de réaction en au moins deux lots initiaux; (d) appliquer au moins deux réactifs différents un à chaque zone de réaction dans chaque lot initial, et enregistrer l'identité de ces zones de réaction auxquelles chacun desdits différents réactifs est appliqué; (e) soumettre toutes les zones de réaction aux conditions de réaction qui permettent de mener à terme la réaction; (f) subdiviser à nouveau les zones de réaction en au moins deux lots différents; (g) appliquer au moins deux réactifs différents, un à chaque zone de réaction dans chaque lot alterné, et enregistrer l'identité des zones de réaction auxquelles chacun des différents réactifs est appliqué; (h) soumettre toutes les zones de réaction aux conditions de réaction qui permettent de mener la réaction à son terme; (i) répéter les étapes (f) à (h) autant de fois que nécessaire.
