METHOD OF MAKING A ONE-PIECE BATHING MODULE BY A CLOSED-MOLD METHOD, AND BATHING MODULE FORMED THEREBY Abstract An improved method of making a one-piece bathing module (20) includes the steps of: providing male and female mold sections, the male section (M) being selec- tively insertable into the female section (F) to define a cavity therebetween having the desired shape of the bathing module, the male section being selectively withdrawable from the female sections, each of the mold sections having cooperative surfaces which define the cavity when the male section is inserted into the female section; coating the surface of each mold section which faces into the cavity to be formed with a material that will allow the module to readily separate from the mold section; applying a gelcoat to the male section cavity-facing surface; drying the gelcoat; applying a fiberglass rein- forced mat in substantial area contact to the male section surface; inserting the male section and mat into the female section; clamping the mold sections together; injecting resin into the cavity; curing the injected resin to define the bathing module; unclamping the mold sections; withdrawing the male section and bathing module from the female section; and removing the bathing module from said male section.
