ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of forming a belt for use in papermaking includes applying a first coat of liquid urethane to a smooth mandrel, drying the first coat, grinding the first coat to a predetermined thickness, placing a woven fabric sleeve on the coated mandrel, shrinking the fabric sleeve, applying a second coat of liquid urethane thereto, drying the second coat, and removing the belt from the mandrel.
