Abstract "A method of Making an Explosive in the Form of an Emulsion" A water-in-fuel emulsion explosive composition is provided. The discontinuous, aqueous phase of the emulsion has dispersed therein a solution or melt of an oxidising, amine-containing salt. The continuous, fuel phase has dispersed therein a long chain carboxylic acid or halide thereof. The amine reacts with the acid or acid/halide to form reaction products which stabilize the emulsions for enhanced shelf life.
