A method of making a bearing component from slippery polymer alloy, the bearing component having a bearing surface composed of a set of diamond shaped protuberances directed inward to form hydrodynamic bearing surfaces when fluid lubricated. The method comprises placing the slippery polymer alloy before molding in a rubber mold having a pattern for forming the protuberances and heating the mold to the proper temperature to form the protuberances.
