Improved Method of Making Cellular Crosslinked Poly(Dicyclopentadiene) Abstract of Disclosures Disclosed is an improved method of making a cellular crosslinked polymer with a metathesis-catalyst system where a metathesis-catalyst is activated with an alkylaluminum iodide compound. In a preferred embodiment, two parts of the metathesis- catalyst system form the basis for two solutions, a catalyst/ monomer solution and an alkylaluminum iodide activator/monomer solution. At least one solution also contains a blowing agent. The solutions are combined in one place, such as the mixing head of a reaction injection molding machine, and then injected into another place, such as a mold, where the monomer reacts to form a cellular crosslinked polymer.
