A high strength steel composition comprising ferrite and martensite/bainite phases, the ferrite phase having primarily vanadium and niobium carbide or carbonitride precipitates, is prepared by a first rolling above the austenite recrystallization temperature, a second rolling below the austenite recrystallization temperature; cooling between the Ar3 transformation point and 500 ~C; and water cooling to below about 400 ~C.
Pour préparer une composition d'acier de haute résistance comprenant des phases de ferrite et de martensite/bainite, la phase de ferrite comportant essentiellement des précipités de vanadium et de carbure de niobium ou de carbonitrure, on effectue un premier laminage au-dessus de la température de recristallisation de l'austénite, un deuxième laminage en dessous de cette température, et enfin, un refroidissement entre le point de transformation A¿r3? et à 500 ~C; puis un refroidissement à moins de 400 ~C.
