ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Foam compositions are disclosed with a synergistic blowing agent mixture of propane and butane for use as coatings and adhesives. Foams are made by pressurizing a liquid composition containing a blowing agent mixture of propane and butane and re- leasing the pressure to form the foams. The propane and butane are contained in a liquid composition in relative amounts which together provide a synergistic foaming effectiveness upon the liquid composition. High foam-volume ratios are achieved at relatively low pressures employing the liquid blowing agent mix- ture of propane and butane. The method and compositions are advantageous in making paints and adhesives with polymeric components as the film-forming or adhesive solids.
