A process for the titanate catalyzed preparation of plasticizers from polycarboxylic acids and alcohols which minimizes waste water and is energy efficient. The reaction product is treated with aqueous caustic and is then filtered using an absorbent medium which removes titanium, caustic, acid salts and water. The need for water washing is obviated, and the final plasticizer product has excellent properties.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de préparation catalysée par le titanate de plastifiants à partir d'acides polycarboxyliques et d'alcools, procédé qui génère au minimum de l'eau usée et qui a un bon rendement énergétique. Le produit de réaction est traité avec un caustique aqueux, puis est filtré au moyen d'un milieu absorbant qui élimine le titane, le caustique, les sels acides et l'eau. Il n'est pas nécessaire de laver l'eau pour obtenir un produit final plastifiant aux propriétés excellentes.
