A method of making a pressure sensitive matrix patch for transdermal delivery of a drug is disclosed. The method includes the steps of dissolving a hydrophilic salt form of the drug in the water phase of an aquesous dispersion of a hydrophobic pressure sensitive adhesive, casting the resulting mixture as a thin film, and evaporating the water. The physical stability of the drug in the film is excellent, and crystallization of the drug is inhibited. A method of increasing the transdermal flux of an acidic drug is also disclosed.

Un procédé de fabrication de timbre matriciel autocollant permettant d'administrer un médicament par voie transdermique est présentée. La méthode consiste à dissoudre le médicament sous forme de sel hydrophile dans la phase aqueuse d'une dispersion d'un autocollant hydrophobe, à couler le mélange qui en résulte en un film fin,et à faire évaporer l'eau. La stabilité physique du médicament dans le film est excellente et on évite toute crystallisation du médicament. Une méthode permettant d'augmenter le flux transdermique d'un médicament acide est également présentée.
