A PULLEY WITH A NUMBER OF V-SHAPED GROOVES AND A METHOD OF MAKING THIS PULLEY ABSTRACT A pulley with a numer of V-shaped grooves, especially having a stepped shape, comprises a rim or rims and a core which are separately formed by an appropriate plastic process and they are fixed or connect fixedly to each other by a metallurgical or mechanical processing. According to one embodiment, a short pipe- shaped blank is rolled to produce a rim with a number of V-shaped grooves, and thereafter the fixation is accieved. According to a second embodiment, a blank or blanks is rolled to form a rim or rims with a number of V-shaped grooves, and simultaneously the rim or rims is fixed to a core by the action of the rolling. According to a third embodiment, a blank is rolled to produce a rim with a number of V-shaped grooves, and the core is enlarged in order to fix the rim or rims to the core.
