In accordance with the inven-tion a reactive multilayer foil is fabricated by providing an assembly (stack or multilayer) of reactive layers, inserting the assembly into a jacket, deforming the jacketed assembly to reduce its cross sectional area, flattening the jacketed assembly into a sheet, and then re-moving the jacket. Advantageously, the as-sembly is wound into a cylinder before inser-tion into the jacket, and the jacketed assembly is cooled to a temperature below 100 °C dur-ing deforming. The resulting multilayer foil is advantageous as a freestanding reactive foil for use in bonding, ignition or propulsion.

L'invention se rapporte à une feuille métallique multicouche réactive qui est fabriquée, à partir d'un ensemble (empilement ou multicouche) de couches réactives, par introduction dudit ensemble dans une chemise, déformation de l'ensemble chemisé aux fins de la réduction de sa section transversale, aplatissement de l'ensemble chemisé sous forme de feuille puis retrait de ladite chemise. Avantageusement, l'ensemble est enroulé sous forme de cylindre avant son insertion dans la chemise, et l'ensemble chemisé est refroidi à une température inférieure à 100 DEG C pendant la déformation. La feuille métallique multicouche résultante s'avère avantageuse en tant que feuille métallique réactive autonome destinée à être utilisée pour le soudage, l'allumage ou la propulsion.
