ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of making a relief printing plate, characterized by forming a fibrous sheet in a manner similar to the wet or dry paper-making process from synthetic fibers or a blend of synthetic fibers and a natural pulp, an assemblage thereof having a modulus of resilience of 40% or lower when compressed until the void volume content becomes zero, treating the surface of said fibrous sheet so that a surface film layer may be formed, and pressing in solid state the treated fibrous sheet against a matrix.
