A method of synthesizing trimethylene carbonate is disclosed involving (a) reacting 1,3-propanediol and a compound chosen from phosgene and bis- chloroformates to form a polycarbonate intermediate having a specified structural formula; and (b) providing a combination of temperature and pressure corresponding to vapor phase conditions for trimethylene carbonate.

L'invention concerne un procédé de synthèse du carbonate de triméthylène consistant : à (a) faire réagir 1,3-propanédiol et un composé sélectionné parmi du phosgène et des bis-chloroformates de manière à former un polycarbonate intermédiaire comprenant une formule développée spécifique; et à (b) établir une combinaison de température et de pression correspondant à des conditions de phase vapeur du carbonate de triméthylène.
