A method of manipulating molecules at the molecular level, comprises the steps placing molecules to be manipulated in a strong non-resonant laser beam for a time sufficient non-linear interaction between the molecules and the laser beam to manipulate the molecules in a controllable manner. The laser intensity can reach 2 x 10 12 W/cm2 or more which can create forces in excess of 10-12 Dynes, giving an acceleration in excess of 5 x 10 10m/sec2.
L'invention est une méthode de manipulation de molécules au niveau moléculaire dans laquelle les molécules à manipuler sont placées dans un intense faisceau laser non résonant durant un intervalle de temps suffisamment long pour qu'il puisse s'établir une interaction non linéaire entre les molécules et que le faisceau laser puisse les manipuler de façon contrôlable. L'intensité du laser peut atteindre 2 x 1012 W/cm2 ou plus, ce qui peut engendrer des forces dépassant 10-12 dynes et des accélérations supérieures à 5 x 1010 m/s2.
