TITLE A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A FOUNDRY MOLD FOR CASTING MOLTEN METAL INVENTOR Ervin Istvan Szabo ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A smooth barrier between the foundry mold aggre- gate of a mold and the molten metal is provided, and the fluidity of the molten metal during casting is improved and thus the definition of the casting, by coating the mold sur- faces for contact with molten metal with at least one ha- lide liberating substance selected from the group consist- ing of non-dehydrating metal halides and ammonium halides. The halide liberating substance may be zirconyl chloride; aluminum chloride, ferric chloride or titanium chloride.
