ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for forming a two-piece fastener which has improved thread strength characteristics in a two- shot injection mold process without the need for a subsequent assembly step uses a unique molding arrangement to form a screw member and a body member having a configuration which is adapted to permit such molding. The method may be used to form a two-piece fastener which has an expandable body member and a screw member which threads into the body member. According to the method of the invention, the screw member is molded first, then the body member is molded around the screw member in a second mold assembly which is shaped to receive the body member.
