ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The method relates to the manufacture of variable capacitors. Before the assembly of the capacitors the individual rotor sheets and/or stator sheets are provided on all sides with a dielectric. The dielectric is vapour deposited on the sheets. A material from the group of polypara combinations is chosen for the dielectric, preferably diparaxylylene Electrical contact between the rotor sheets is obtained by arranging the sheets on the rotor shaft with a slight press fit, with or without insertion of spacing rings. Electrical contact between the stator sheets is inter alia obtained by a scratching or grinding operation on the side of the stator stack. If desired, a layer of solder can also be provided on the treated side.
