A method of manufacturing an advertisement and/or decoration carrier and an advertisement and/or decoration carrier including a base member and a mirror layer having a selected configuration applied to the carrier member. The method includes applying a mirror layer on a surface of the base member, the mirror layer having a reflective surface which regularly reflects light and a non-reflective surface, wherein the reflective surface of the mirror layer faces against the base member. On the non-reflective surface of the mirror layer is placed a barrier layer having a shape corresponding to the selected configuration of the mirror layer. The mirror layer is removed in areas not covered by the barrier layer by rubbing the areas with a liquid-dissolving substance under slight pressure.
