12 ABSTRACT: "Method of manufacturing an optical cable element and de- vice for carrying out the method." A method of manufacturing an optical cable ele- ment in which a synthetic resin envelope is extruded around one or more optical fibres at elevated temperature, the element is then cooled and wound on a reel in which, after cooling, the element is again heated and stored (tempered) at the heating temperature for some time and is finally cooled to room temperature, as well as a de- vice for carrying out the method.
