The invention relates to a method of manufacturing flattened tubes for heat exchangers. Known flattened tubes are single-manufactured at high expense. The achievement comprises the following work steps: a) continuously passing an endless strip of sheet metal (7) through the nip (49) of two embossing rolls (2, 3) rotating opposedly, particularly of a driving counter-embossing roll (2) and an embossing roll (3) having protuberances, b) single-sided embossing of said endless strip of sheet metal (7) in said nip (49) by the embossing roll (3) with adjustable intrerruption of the embossing, c) said adjustable interruption producing an alternating spacing of said nip (49) between said embossing rolls which in each case results in a non- embossed zone (10) between the embossed zones (39), d) tube roll-forming of said embossed endless strip of sheet metal (7) into a closable endless flattened tube, e) closing of said endless flattened tube, f) parting off of said flattened tubes from said closed endless flattened tube in said non-embossed zone (10).
