ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Large diameter tubes or the like made of reinforced plastic by deposition on a rotating cylindrical mandrel are slit longitud- inally and convolutely coiled to effectively reduce their volume for shipping, handling, or storing. For further volume reducing advantage, a plurality of the tubes are nested within one another in a shippable package. The slit tubes are subsequently reunited or joined together with other tubes for a variety of end uses.
