The present invention is an improved method of manufacturing a low odour fertilizer consisting of the steps of creating a mixture of an organic fertilizer base, water and powdered humate, and then heating the mixture to a temperature of at least approximately 100 degrees centigrade for a period of time sufficient to deodorize the mixture. The organic fertilizer base consists of a suitable organic material such as manure, vegetable bi-products, fish meal, animal bi-products or sewage sludge.
