ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Methods of manufacturing sulphate pulp from lignocellulose-contain- ing material are disclosed. The yields obtainable in such methods are in- creased by assuring that the time during which the lignocellulose-containing material is in contact with the cooking liquor at a temperature in the range of from about 80°C. to 140°C. is very short. To accomplish this, impregna- tion is substantially carried out at a temperature which lies outside of th&t range, and which is lower than the cooking temperature.
