ABSTRACT A method of marking a point on an object being covered by a foamable liquid as disclosed wherein the formation of foam occurs in an exothermic reaction. The method includes applying a marking liquid to the object together with the foamable liquid such that the liquid is characterized by undergoing vaporization at a temperature below the maximum temperature of the foam during the exothermic reaction and thereafter, alloqing the foamable liquid to rise. The resulting foam rises to a greater degree at the point of application of the marking liquid as a result of vaporization of the latter during formation of the foam.
