TITLE OF THE INVENTION METHOD OF MARKING AN OPHTHALMIC LENS WITH HYDROPHILIC INDICIA ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Hydrophilic indicia are marked on ophthalmic lens by treating the lens surface with a hydrophilic agent which provides a polarized portion or marking on the lens which is visible only when moisture is applied to the lens surface, for instance when a person's breath is applied to the lens surface. Lenses so marked are readily identified and recognized when breath is applied but otherwise remain totally transparent and are not interfered with the optical properties of the lens itself.
