In the method of milking a group of dairy animals (A, B) by means of an automatic milking system (2), the group comprises at least two subgroups. The method comprises a number of steps. In one step, a dairy animal that presents itself for a milking is identified. Subsequently, a decision is taken about whether or not the dairy animal should be milked at that moment. If milking is desirable and the dairy animal belongs to the first subgroup (A), a teat cleaning treatment is carried out prior to the start of the milking. During the teat cleaning treatment, at least one teat of the dairy animal is cleaned. The method is characterized in that, upon identification of a dairy animal from the second subgroup (B), a limitation for a teat cleaning treatment is issued by a control device (12).

La présente invention concerne un procédé de traite d'un groupe d'animaux laitiers (A, B) au moyen d'un système de traite automatisé (2), ledit groupe d'animaux comprenant au moins deux sous-groupes. Ledit procédé comporte un certain nombre d'étapes. A cours d'une étape, un animal laitier se présentant pour la traite est identifié. Par la suite, la décision est prise de traire ou pas l'animal laitier à ce moment-là. S'il s'avère souhaitable de traire l'animal laitier et si celui-ci appartient au premier sous-groupe (A), un traitement de nettoyage des trayons est mis en ?uvre avant le début de la traite. Durant ledit traitement de nettoyage des trayons, au moins l'un des trayons de l'animal laitier est nettoyé. Le procédé est caractérisé en ce que, suite à l'identification d'un animal laitier appartenant au second sous-groupe (B), l'instruction de ne pas procéder à un traitement de nettoyage des trayons est donnée par un dispositif de commande (12).
