ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of modifying a synthetic or natural polyamide product, such as a fiber cloth, film or leather, wherein a graft polymerization is carried out on said product in an aqueous solution containing 5 to 60 mole % of carried acid and 95 to 40 mole % of methacrylic acid as monomer or by adding said aqueous solution to the polymerization system. The method provides an industrial- ly feasible and efficient means of graft polymerization of polyamide products by greatly improved grafting efficiency of acidic vinyl monomers to the product.
