The present invention relates to a method for the sustained release in vivo of a biologically active labile agent comprising administering to a subject in need of treatment an effective amount of a sustained release composition comprising a biocompatible polymer having the biologically active labile agent incorporated therein, and a corticosteroid wherein the labile is released for a period of at least about two weeks. It is understood that the corticosteroid is present in an amount sufficient to modify the release profile of the biologically active labile agent from the sustained release composition. Pharmaceutical compositions suitable for use in the method of the invention are also disclosed.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant la libération lente in vivo d'un agent labile biologiquement actif. Ce procédé consiste à administrer à un sujet nécessitant un traitement, une quantité efficace d'une composition à libération lente contenant un polymère biocompatible dans lequel est incorporé l'agent labile biologiquement actif, et un corticostéroïde; l'agent labile étant libéré pendant une durée d'au moins environ deux semaines. Le corticostéroïde est présent en quantité suffisante pour modifier le profil de libération de l'agent labile biologiquement actif de la composition à libération lente. Cette invention concerne également des compositions pharmaceutiques pouvant être utilisées dans le procédé décrit dans l'invention.
