PHN. 9124. 19-6-1978. ABSTACT: A method of modulating a composite colour television signal on a carrier signal. The luminance signal is frequency-modulated on the carrier signal. The chrominance signal on the to a subcarrier frequency either by mixing with the modulated carrier signal or frequency modulation of the carrier signal with said chrominance signal. Subsequently, the carrier signal is pulse-width modulated with said subcarrier signal. In this way a signal is obtained from which the original colour television signal can be recovered by a single fre- quency demodulation operation, whilst the normally occurring undesired interference components can be reduced substantially. - 26 -
