ABSTRACT: Method of monitoring a radio link between a base station and a mobile station. In radio transmission systems which are known the monitoring of a radio link between a base station and a mobile station is effected by means of an evaluation of the received field strength or of the sig- nal-to-noise ratio. This evaluation is not reliable in the case of a radio transmission system with a high number of transmission channels or in the case of radio zones which overlap to a considerable extent. Radio messages are registered and evaluated in the base sta- tion in order to monitor an existing radio link.
