ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention provides a method of monitoring a target space, comprising projecting the thermal infrared radiation of the target space by means of an infrared lens as an image onto at least one infrared sensitive detector, forming a sequence of electrical signals by repeatedly scanning said image and reproducing said signal sequence on a TV monitor as an image of an object in said target space, the signal sequence being reproduced on the one hand directly in one specific color and on the other hand delayed in time in another colour to the TV monitor as said image of said object.
