The present invention relates to a method of detecting and monitoring genomic instability in a cell using three-dimensional analysis to assess telomeric and/or chromosomal organization. In addition, the invention relates to a method and system for characterizing the 3D organization of telomeres and/or chromosomes. The system includes an input module for inputting image data of the 3D organization of telomeres and/or chromosomes and a characteristic module for finding a parameter of the 3D organization. The invention also relates to the use of the three-dimensional analysis to detect, diagnose or monitor disease, particularly proliferative diseases such as cancer.

Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé pour détecter et surveiller l'instabilité génomique dans une cellule en utilisant l'analyse tridimensionnelle pour évaluer l'organisation télomère et/ou chromosomique. Cette invention concerne en outre un procédé et un système permettant de caractériser l'organisation tridimensionnelle de télomères et/ou de chromosomes. Ce système comprend un module d'entrée permettant d'introduire les données d'images de l'organisation tridimensionnelle des télomères et/ou des chromosomes, ainsi qu'un module caractéristique permettant de déterminer un paramètre de cette organisation tridimensionnelle. Cette invention concerne également l'utilisation de cette analyse tridimensionnelle pour détecter, diagnostiquer et surveiller des maladies, telles que notamment des maladies prolifératives comme le cancer.
