A method of mounting a hitch on an all terrain vehicle. The first step involves providing an all terrain vehicle. The second step involves providing a frame. The third step involves mounting a mounting end of the frame to an undercarriage of the all terrain vehicle forward of its rear wheels for pivotal movement about a substantially horizontal axis. The fourth step involves mounting a winch at the rear of the all terrain vehicle and connecting a line from the winch to a hitch end of the frame. The winch is used to raise and lower the frame.
