Abstract of the Invention The invention relates to a method of movably interlacing a heating conductor in a predeterminable position between textile layers. Known methods provide that the heating conductor is fixed on one of the layers by a zigzag seam or adhesive tape anchorage, and that the covering textile layer is bonded to the bottom layer. This procedure involves a high outlay for sewing machines or for sewing-machine-like laying devices for the adhesive tape. There is a danger of the heating conductor being damaged during the sewing operation. This is remedied by equipping one of two press plates with an electric heating device and with a pin template interposed between them. A textile layer is applied over the pins and onto the support plane of the pin template and the heating conductor is laid upon it. A second textile layer is also passed over the pins and on to the heating conductor. At least one of the two textile layers is provided with a heat-sealable adhesive coating. When the two press plates are brought together the excess pin length is received in an elastic overlay or in recesses or in pin guide means of the first or second press plate. The heating conductor is displaced by pressure into the textile layers and the two layers are bonded together by heat.
