ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a method of obtention of alumina from clays and aluminium silicates, in general, charac- terized by the fact of making react clay or any other aluminium silicate with a compound like sulphate, bi-sulphate, pyrosulphate, tiosulphate, sulphite, phosphate or phosphite of alkali or ammonium metals; this reaction is carried out by a dry method in an oven between 300-750°C and during a period of time between 45 and 120 minutes the aluminium, after this calcination remains like a double salt of aluminium-alkali or aluminium-ammonium which is separated by dilution and lastly is precipitated as aluminium hydroxide, which, by calcination gives crystallized alumina.
