ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a method of operating a combined installation (10, 11, 13) having a gas turbine group (12) with a compressor (16) (with associated cooler (18) to which water is admitted as the cooling medium), a combustion chamber (20) and a gas turbine (22) and having a steam turbine installation (14) with a waste heat boiler (24) heated by the exhaust gas from the gas turbine (22), with evaporator (27, 45), drum (25, 42), economizer (26, 44) and superheater (28, 46), a downstream steam turbine (30) and a mixed preheater (34), which latter is supplied with condensate from a condenser (32) fitted downstream of the steam turbine (30). The cooling water heated by the waste heat of the compressed combustion air from the compressor (16) is expanded in at least one stage and the steam formed by this process is fed to the waste heat boiler (24) and/or the steam turbine (30). In addition, the unevaporated residual water is fed to the mixed preheater (34) and, after mixing with the condensate supplied, is used for feeding the cooler (18). The invention also relates to an appliance for carrying out the method, having a combined installation (10, 11, 13) which includes a gas turbine group (12) with a com- pressor (16) (with associated cooler (18) to which water is admitted as the cooling medium), a combustion chamber (20) and a gas turbine (22) and which includes a steam turbine installation (14) with a waste heat boiler (24) heated by the exhaust gas from the gas tur- bine (22), with evaporator (27, 45), drum (25, 42), economizer (26, 44) and superheater (28, 46), a down- stream steam turbine (30) and a mixed preheater (34), which latter is supplied with condensate from a con- denser (32) fitted downstream of the steam turbine (30), in which the water-side outlet of the cooler (18) is connected to at least one evaporation vessel (25, 38, 40, 42) which is in turn connected, directly or - 2 - indirectly, to the steam turbine (30) and to the mixed preheater (34).
