ABSTRACT A process for improving a crystalline or particulate explosive substance is disclosed. The process comprises coating crystals or particles of the explosive substance with a small amount of oxazolin wax. When the crystals or particles so prepared are further coated with a phlegmatization wax or a plastic binder, more uniform distribution and deposition of the wax or the binder on the crystals or particles may be achieved.
