-15- METHOD OF PIGMENTING WATER-ABSORBABLE PLASTIC AND PRODUCT THEREFROM Abstract of the Disclosure This invention is directed to a pigmented plastic material comprising a polymerized mixture of a water-absorbable plastic material such as 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA), an organic binder such as cellulose acetate butyrate (CAB), and at least one pigment. The pigmented plastic mixture is particu- larly useful in the production of colored soft contact lenses. The invention is also directed to a method for producing such pigmented plastic material.
