A method for predicting fat free mass (FFM) and total body water (TBW) of a prepubertal child infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) comprises the steps of measuring a child's height, measuring the child's total body resistance, and predicting fat free mass (FFM) and total body weight (TBW) of said child using the measured height and total body resistance.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'estimer la masse non adipeuse (FFM) et l'eau corporelle totale (TBW) d'un enfant prépubère infecté par le virus de l'immunodéficience humaine (HIV). Ledit procédé comprend les étapes suivantes: mesurer l'enfant, mesurer sa résistance corporelle totale, et estimer la masse non adipeuse (FFM) et le poids corporel total (TWB) de l'enfant sur la base de la taille et de la résistance corporelle totale mesurées.
