Method of preparation of surface coating of variable transmittance and an electro-optical layered appliance includ-ing the same comprises dispersing of liquid crystal microdroplets in hydrolyzable and polymerizable precursors and applying ob-tained mixture on a surface by spraying. Applying the material to the surface by spraying is intrinsically related to the synthesis processes because the properties of the surrounding environment (i.e. content of water and acidity, UV radiation) and the chemical reactions that take place during spraying have considerable influence on the properties (i.e. driving voltage, thickness of obtained layer). Obtained layered appliance comprises of a matrix material with dispersed microdroplets of liquid crystal obtained by the described method, electrically conductive transparent electrodes with contacts, a dielectric material, substrate and covering layers.

Procédé d'obtention d'un revêtement de surface à capacité de transmission variable et appareil électro-optique possédant un tel revêtement. Ce procédé consiste : à disperser des microgouttelettes de cristal liquide dans des précurseurs hydrolisables et polymérisables, et à appliquer le mélange ainsi obtenu sur une surface par vaporisation. L'application par pulvérisation du matériau sur la surface est intrinsèquement liée aux procédés de synthèse du fait que les caractéristiques de l'environnement proche (telles que la teneur en eau et l'acidité ou le rayonnement ultraviolet) et les réactions chimiques qui se produisent pendant la pulvérisation ont une influence considérable sur les propriétés (tension de commande, épaisseur de la couche obtenue). L'appareil enduit obtenu comprend un matériau matriciel avec des microgouttelettes de cristal liquide obtenues par le procédé susdécrit, des électrodes transparentes électriquement conductrices avec contacts, un matériau diélectrique, un substrat et des couches de revêtement.
